William Alexander Julien is the founder and CEO of Lancelot Studios and a Master of Fine Arts candidate in Film Production at the University of Southern California (USC). With a directorial portfolio of over 16 short films, his Spring 2022 project, La Cle De L’Amour, earned more than 20 festival selections and awards. His Winter 2022 film, Time Before Christmas, has attracted over 65,000 views on YouTube. Most recently, his thesis film, Sabre: A Fencer’s Story, reflecting his experiences as an internationally competitive fencer, is making its rounds in the 2023/2024 festival circuit.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate from Duke University in Cinematic Arts, William was also awarded Duke's inaugural Outstanding Filmmaker Award. At Duke, he competed on the division one varsity fencing team and held an executive role with Freewater Productions. William has worked alongside two-time Academy Award winner Barbara Kopple and her production company, Cabin Creek Films, and gained production experience with producer Ross Dinerstein of Campfire Studios in 2022. His early work with the Africa Foundation was highlighted by the Miami Herald and the Silver Knight Academy. Through his films, William strives to captivate global audiences with visually spectacular and thought-provoking stories.
